INDIVIDUAL DONATIONS

We rely on the money donated by individuals throughout our community through our Clothes for Kids campaign every year. This money is used to support our Operation School Bell program, which helps dress deserving students in the Washoe County School District.

GRANTS FROM CORPORATIONS & FOUNDATIONS

Assistance League of Reno-Sparks Grants Committee writes grant applications to support our philanthropic programs.  Grants are especially helpful for funding our programs. We are grateful for the support we get from foundations that help fund our programs. Here is a list of our recent grantors.

HONOR FRIENDS AND FAMILY

Donations may be made to honor the memory of a loved one or celebrate significant events.  We will send a card to the person or family you have chosen to honor.  Gift amounts are not listed.

NON-CASH DONATIONS

We also accept donations of goods or services.  Please provide a fair market value assessment of your contribution.

For questions regarding the different methods of contribution, please contact Assistance League of Reno-Sparks Treasurer or call 775-329-1584.

Assistance League of Reno-Sparks is a 501(c)(3) corporation. Your donation is tax-deductible. The tax ID number is # 88-0139673. We mail donation receipts to donors for monetary contributions. Donation receipts are available at the Thrift Shop for merchandise donations at the time of donation.

Assistance League of Reno-Sparks’ most important fundraiser is the Thrift Shop. The proceeds from the Thrift Shop at 1701 Vassar Street serve to offset operational costs and are directed toward our philanthropic programs.

Donate your gently used items to the Thrift Shop. Instead of going the work of having a yard sale, drop off your items at the Thrift Shop and receive your tax deductible form.

Shop in the Thrift Shop. It is clean and has great items that are priced to sell.

Finally, pass our name on. Let your friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors know where we are and how great the Thrift Shop really is.

Become a member and feel the love. Giving through contributions, shopping or donating is wonderful, but giving through membership is priceless. Friendship and support, using and learning skills, and personal investment to make the organization and programs run are just a few of the benefits.

Your used coats, hats and gloves are in demand. Veterans Outreach is collecting for their annual coat drive for Stand Down For Veterans in September.

Assistance League of Reno-Sparks Food Pantry needs your double-handled paper grocery bags. They use approximately 1,800 bags a month to deliver food to senior citizens in the Reno-Sparks community. That’s a lot of bags!

The Clothes For Kids Campaign is our annual fundraiser directly benefiting Operation School Bell®.

You can give a cash donation to the Senior Sampler philanthropic program but don’t miss the chance to shop in the Senior Sampler Gift Shop or at the Senior Sampler Gift Shop Holiday Craft Fair. The talented senior crafters have created a wonderful variety of items. It won’t be hard to find items for yourself and for gifts. The best part, 100% of the proceeds are returned to the senior crafter.

So, shop in the Gift Shop and at the Holiday Fair, and don’t forget to pass our name on. Let your friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors know where we are and how great the Senior Sampler Gift Shop is.

Donate new or gently used preschool aged children’s books to the Read to ME program. Every year this endearing program hands out hundreds of books to children to take home.
