Operation School Bell®

,,,is our signature program that provides new school clothing to students in need.  Students are referred through the schools in the High Desert (TK-12) to attend on of our shopping events . Volunteer members assist students in the selection of school-appropriate clothing.

Moving Forward

..This program is designed to aid young adults who have aged-out of the foster care system. Through our partnership with the Family Assistance Program, we provided household items and linens to support their three houses and drop-in center

Project R.E.A.D.

… Read, Enjoy And Develop was adopted by Assistance League of Victor Valley to meet identified needs of local school children.  Project R.E.A.D. funding supports the annual Young Author’s program, Literacy Awards and STEM (Science/Technology/Engineering/Math) Awards, offered to all nine High Desert School Districts.

Outreach

… This program was designed to provide our chapter with the flexibility to respond to community need as they arise on a one-time-only basis— such as natural disasters or emergencies.  Most recently, we provided clothing and personal hygiene items to a couple who had lost their home due to a fire.  In addition, we also provided school clothing to a family who also suffered a house fire.

Operation Hug

… provides cuddly teddy bears for children suffering from physical and emotional trauma while being treated in local hospitals. These bears provide comfort to these children in crisis. Members deliver bears to our three local hospital emergency rooms for distribution.

Assault Survivor Kits®

… is a program that provides clothing and grooming items to victims of violence. When a victim’s clothing is retained as evidence in a criminal investigation , they are given a kit — each kit contains a shirt, pants, underwear, and hygiene items. Kits are distributed, as needed, by counselors from the Partners Against Violence high desert location.

Pass It On!

… We donate Thrift Shop merchandise, that our chapter no longer needs, to charitable organizations.
