[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]We featured several speakers \u2013 Shown here are Mitzi Holmes<\/strong> (left), our current President Elect, who introduced the event, Scott Elder<\/strong>, Superintendent of Albuquerque Public Schools and Wanita Kirkman<\/strong>, our current chapter President. All spoke at the event.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”6875″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/4″][vc_single_image image=”6878″ img_size=”200×200″ alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/4″][vc_single_image image=”6879″ img_size=”200×200″ alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]Other speakers were Kathy Darwin<\/strong>, past National President of Assistance League and local ALA member and Mr. Johnson<\/strong>, representing one of our Sharing Partnerships \u2013 Tender Love Community Center \u2013 where they teach women in the community how to sew new garments[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”6897″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]Members represented each of our 10 philanthropic programs.<\/strong> Shown here are Tender Loving Care (TLC)<\/strong> where we provide handmade items to UNM Cancer patients[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”6896″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/4″][vc_column_text]We had a table for our Blue Portal Gift Shop<\/strong> in Old Town, which benefits NM senior artists; Operation School Bell <\/strong>getting new shoes and cloths to kids in Title 1 schools in ABQ; Buddy Bear Patrol<\/strong>, which provides children with a comforting teddy bear during a stressful time.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”6889″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/4″][vc_single_image image=”6890″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”6891″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/4″][vc_column_text]We had some members represent a committee: like Ron with Durable Assets Management<\/strong> and History<\/strong> \u2013 both on paper in our boardroom and living history \u2013 as two members model vintage\/retro clothing from the Thrift Shop.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”3\/4″][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”6892,6893,6883″ img_size=”medium”][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/4″][vc_column_text]We had members helping the celebration run smoothly: from check-in for name badges to serving refreshments and more.<\/p>\n

Here are two ladies from Saranam<\/strong> and our member, Catie Angell. Saranam is one our Sharing Partnerships.<\/p>\n

We also had 4 members attend from Silver Horizons<\/strong>, which assists the hungry and homeless.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″][vc_single_image image=”6887″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″][vc_single_image image=”6895″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/3″][vc_single_image image=”6894″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″][vc_column_text]One of our special Partners is KQRE<\/strong> Media Group.<\/strong> They support us with PSA\u2019s and phone banks which in turn gives us additional dollars to provide school children new shoes.<\/p>\n
