Making a Difference on the Golf Course<\/strong><\/h3>\n

ATLANTA GA \u2013 Bear\u2019s Best Golf Course in Suwanee, Ga. was the site of Assistance League of Atlanta\u2019s sixth annual charity golf tournament on October 2, 2023. Of the 140 golfers who participated, 60 were sponsored first responders and essential workers in acknowledgment of the service they provide to our communities. A major fundraiser for Assistance League of Atlanta, donors and supporters had the option of playing a round of golf and\/or sponsoring an individual or foursome of first responders and essential workers as a thank-you for their service especially through the challenges of the past year. Representatives from the following organizations enjoyed a free day of golf with meals and prizes: Atlanta Fire Department, Dekalb County Fire Department, Dunwoody Police Department, Gwinnett County Fire Department, Johns Creek Police Department, Kaiser Permanente and Norcross Police Department.<\/p>\n

Assistance League of Atlanta. Assistance League of Atlanta is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization committed to helping children and adults in need rebuild their lives and become more self-sufficient. It supports a network of 250 community partners in providing new clothing and weekend food for schoolchildren, household goods, hygiene kits, comfort items and educational aid to those affected by homelessness, abuse and poverty. Funding for its programs comes from proceeds from the Attic Treasures Thrift Shop (located at 3534 Broad Street, Chamblee, GA 30341) as well as fundraisers, donations and grants.
