Baybrook Kohl’s Store Donates Over 900 Books to Chapter

This past fall, Assistance League of the Bay Area entered into a partnership with Kohl’s, as the chapter shifted to an all-retail model for their largest philanthropic program, Operation School Bell®. There have been numerous ways Kohl’s has demonstrated their commitment to the partnership.

On Saturday, January 12, they came through, once again.

After observing the volunteer team gifting students with books as they checked out on Thursday evening, Store Manager Tony Lummus took action! As a result,  he revealed to Operation School Bell Vice Chairman Priscilla Magnuson and Baybrook Operation School Bell Manager Sarah Foulds, a stock room of shelves filled with boxes of books. Over 900 books along with approximately twenty Word and Number sets of flash cards have been donated by Kohl’s.

In addition to supplying needed materials for Assistance League’s Legacy of Literacy initiative, Kohl’s has also been instrumental in helping launch a new philanthropic program, managed by ASSISTEENS® OF THE BAY AREA, Project Family. A component to Project Family will be providing an age-appropriate book to children who are residents at the Bay Area Turning Point shelter.

This continued generosity by Kohl’s demonstrates our great fortune in selecting them as our Operation School Bell partner!
