Assistance League of the Bay Area receives a $50,000 grant from the Leslie L. Alexander Foundation, Inc.

Assistance League of the Bay Area recently opened their mail to find an unexpected $50,000 donation from the Leslie L. Alexander Foundation, Inc. The name, Les Alexander, may seem familiar to Houstonians as the former owner of the Houston Rockets.

The much-needed funds were a welcomed addition to our nonprofit’s budget just as plans are underway for the largest program, Operation School Bell, which provides new school clothing for identified students in need throughout the greater Houston Bay Area. The grant will help provide at least 500 students with clothing essentials to begin in-person classroom instruction.
