Albuquerque – Assistance League’s Adventure in Reading

Assistance League of Albuquerque is celebrating the birthday of its founder Anne Banning by doing what it does best, giving back to the community. This year, community members are invited to set out on an adventure in reading with the entire family.

This year their focus is “literacy.” Their chapter has also decided to have two event locations on Saturday, February 23 at Erna Ferguson Library and the Central and Unser Library. The event is free and will be at 1:30 p.m. at both locations.

During this event, Assistance League encourages parents to bring their elementary aged children to hear stories read in a fun and engaging way. Children who come with their parents will receive free books, socks, a coupon for a free book, and a delicious snack bag from Smith’s Grocery. KRQE’s Jessica Garate will also read at Central and Unser. In addition, there will be an opportunity for every child to sign up for his/her own Albuquerque Public Library card.

The Erna Ferguson Library is located at 3700 San Mateo Blvd. NE

The Central and Unser Library is located at 8081 Central Ave. NW
