Chaves County – Awards Assisteens Scholarships
Assistance League of Chaves County honored five Assisteens® with scholarships recently at the annual May luncheon meeting. Pictured left to right, recipients of the Linda Hays Memorial Scholarships are John Anaya, Alexandria Nesselrodt, Brianna Meeks, and Laura Ann Laidley. Recipient of the Jane Garrett Scholarship is Allie French. Combined value of the five scholarships is $5,500. As graduating seniors, Assisteens are celebrated for their academic, athletic, and leadership accomplishments as well as their volunteering spirit. Each Assisteen has logged over volunteer 120 hours in the past four years serving with the Down Syndrome Foundation, CASA, Roswell Symphony, Roswell Museum and Art Center, Harvest Ministries, among other activities.
