Greater Wilmington – Awards $30K to Educators

The Links to Learning Program is in its fifth year, and Assistance League has now contributed over $80,000 to local schools.

Assistance League of Greater Wilmington awarded 56 educators for 46 projects in New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender counties, totaling more than $30,000 through its Links to Learning Program for the 2016-2017 school year. The awards allow educators to enrich and expand classroom and extracurricular activities and/or develop new or different approaches to teaching that will stimulate creative thought.

The Links to Learning Program is in its fifth year, and Assistance League has now contributed over $80,000 to local schools through this program. The number of applications has grown each year — this past year Assistance League received 83 applications for a total request of over $66,000 against our $30,000 budget.
