Hemacinto – Linda Wortman Receives Ada Edwards Laughlin Award

The Hemacinto Chapter is pleased to announce this year’s Ada Edwards Laughlin Award has been presented to Linda Wortman.

During a recent interview, Linda stated she and her husband Kim came to Hemet in 1975 and she operated Linda’s Ring Factory, located in Farmer’s Corner for 16 years before moving to Florida and Yale for 12 years. She had two employees who worked for her for over twenty years!

When Linda closed the business in 2009, she turned her love of jewelry in a new direction…Assistance League! According to Linda, the best part of her “job” is “looking for treasures”. She loves finding antique and vintage items as well as gold, which is sold to a broker.  Linda also repairs donated items for sale.

Linda is an excellent banker, often subbing in addition to her regular schedule.

When asked why she joined our chapter, Linda enthusiastically replied that it is for “social interaction with other people”.

Thanks Linda for being a special member of Assistance League!
