The Assistance League of Sierra Foothills brought together three talented musicians for its September 29th Inside the Creative Mind series.
Peter Jaffe, renowned director and conductor of the Folsom, Auburn and Stockton symphonies; Gabe Nelson, the legendary bass guitarist for the multi-platinum rock band Cake; and Jeremy Briggs, a Season 6 contestant on “The Voice” (Team Shakira), took the stage, shared their personal journeys and joined in a panel discussion about the creative process moderated by Sacramento Bee music critic Chris Macias.
Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, wine/beer and a raffle featuring many music related items.
“Our goal was to raise funds to support our ongoing philanthropic programs … and to help bring meaningful, cultural events to the region,” said Barbara Brown with Assistance League of Sierra Foothills.
Assistance League of Sierra Foothills is a nonprofit organization that gives back to El Dorado County in several ways, including Operation School Bell®, a program that provides coats and school clothes to needy children; Sports Locker, which provides sports equipment and registration scholarships to young athletes; Bags for Belongings, which provides tote bags to displaced children; Assault Survivor Kits®; as well as scholarship, literacy and senior programs.
