For the kickoff to their newly formed Community Closet program, Professional Women’s Roundtable invited their members to clean out their closets, fill up bags, load them up and deliver to Assistance League Thrift Shop.

“It was amazing to watch all the cars pulling up to stuff the vans. A sight that made my heart happy knowing we are helping our community,” Annette LaRocque, CEO of Professional Women’s Roundtable, said.

At the March 5 luncheon, PWR members lined up their cars to load up the bags of donations into two vans provided by VIP Florist. Both vans were packed to the ceiling and were bursting with bags of donations. Members waved goodbye to their gently used donations as they were transported to the Assistance League Thrift Shop where Assistance League members waited to unload the vans. The volume of bags filled all of the donation shelves, tables and every inch of available space.

The Professional Women’s Roundtable and Assistance League of Temecula Valley have partnered to fulfill the mission of the PWR Community Closet, this mission being to provide shopping vouchers to women in need of assistance as they seek to further their education, enter the workforce or simply to meet basic needs. Voucher recipients use the vouchers to shop for clothing or household goods, free of charge, at the Assistance League of Temecula Valley Thrift Shop.
