Kristen Miranda joined Assistance League of Charlotte Advisory Council in 2015. Since then she has made significant contributions to make the community more aware of Assistance League of Charlotte and its impact on the community.
She uses her social media avenues to get our story and events better exposure. She also informs viewers of what the organization does for the community. She talks about our annual Baubles and Bags event and showcases some of our jewelry by wearing it on her show before the event. Each year, Kristen has also volunteered at an Operation Check Hunger mobile pantry.
Kristen grew up in upstate New York. She graduated from the State University of New York, College at Fredonia with honors in video production and a minor in Spanish.
As one of the reporters on WBTV alert center, Kristen reports breaking news. She is also one of the hosts on Morning Break, which airs on WBTV weekday mornings at 9 a.m. Before coming to Charlotte, Kristen worked as a reporter/anchor in Rochester and Binghamton, NY. She has had the pleasure of interviewing many famous celebrities including former First Lady Michele Obama, Oprah Winfrey, and Dolly Parton.
The North Carolina Associated Press and the Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas have recognized Kristen for her consumer reporting. The New York State Associated Press and the Syracuse Press Club also honored Kristen for her coverage of breaking news. Kristen has sat on many boards and works with several organizations, spreading the word about the good work they are doing in the community.
