{"id":4306,"date":"2017-12-19T15:34:17","date_gmt":"2017-12-19T20:34:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.assistanceleague.org\/chesapeake\/?p=4306"},"modified":"2018-07-03T15:08:17","modified_gmt":"2018-07-03T19:08:17","slug":"storks-nest-baby-shower-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.assistanceleague.org\/chesapeake\/2017\/12\/19\/storks-nest-baby-shower-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Stork&#8217;s Nest Baby Shower"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Members of Assistance League of the Chesapeake met on Thursday, December 14, for their annual Stork\u2019s Nest Baby Shower to benefit the Stork\u2019s Nest at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.<\/p>\n<p>Members donated over $4,000 of items to Stork\u2019s Nest, which provides educational classes ranging from prenatal to infant care, utilizing a points-based incentive system for women to earn and \u201cpurchase\u201d infant care items until the baby turns 12 months old. Any pregnant woman in Anne Arundel County is eligible to participate, with a priority of engaging pregnant women who do not receive regular prenatal care and who are at risk for infant mortality or premature birth.<\/p>\n<p>Assistance League members donated bottles, diapers, baby wipes, blankets, clothing and other items to help keep the Stork\u2019s Nest fully stocked.
