A moment of recollection, a song that brings a smile to the face, a melody that lingers in your mind \u2026 that\u2019s the power of music. Music can soothe or energize, make us happy or sad, and according to John Hopkins Medicine, \u201cbe medicine for your mind, with benefits from memory improvement to stress relief.\u201d<\/p>\n

Assistance League\u00ae of the Chesapeake\u2019s Sing-Alongs for Seniors program provides an opportunity for our members to interact with seniors in assisted living and nursing home residences, bringing a little joy to the seniors\u2019 day. We provide the music, bring the song sheets and share our enthusiasm as we sing the oldies and the goodies. Some residents are shy, others sing off-key. Some have great voices. Many don\u2019t even use the song sheets, since they already know all the words. Everyone has fun!<\/p>\n

We would love to have you join us at our sing-alongs! Check the website calendar here<\/a> for upcoming dates. Our next sing-along is February 12, 6:30 p.m. at Sunrise Assisted Living in Severna Park. We will be leading the seniors in Valentine\u2019s Day and St. Patrick\u2019s Day themed songs.
