Donor Privacy Policy<\/strong><\/p>\n

Revised April 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Purpose<\/strong>: Assistance League\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong> of Conejo Valley a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is committed to protecting the privacy of donors contributing monetary or in-kind donations and honoring their acknowledgment preferences.<\/p>\n

1. Protection of Donor Information<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Assistance League\u00ae<\/sup> of Conejo Valley does not copy, reproduce, publish, distribute, share, sell, or otherwise provide donor names, personal contact information, or donation details to any outside individual or organization, nor does the chapter send mailings to donors on behalf of other organizations, except as required by law, for grant applications, or for bank credit\/debit card transactions processed without prior donor consent.<\/p>\n

When donations are processed through a third-party service provider, donor information will be used only for purposes necessary to complete the transaction.<\/p>\n

This policy applies to donor information received in any format, including electronic, written, or oral communications.<\/p>\n

2.Donor Acknowledgment
\n<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Assistance League\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong> of Conejo Valley may acknowledge donors by name and\/or donation description in materials such as newsletters, brochures, press releases, event programs, solicitation letters, the chapter website, or other expressions of gratitude, unless donor has expressly requested otherwise. Donors may request samples of these publications by contacting the chapter.<\/p>\n

3.Opt-Out Option
\n<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Donors may request at any time that their names and\/or donation information not be used in printed or online acknowledgment materials.<\/p>\n

4.Policy Availability<\/strong><\/h4>\n

A printed copy of this Donor Privacy Policy is available upon request and is also available on the chapter\u2019s website. Donors may contact the chapter at any time with questions about this policy.<\/p>\n

5. Record Retention
\n<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Donation records are maintained per applicable federal and state record retention standards and stored securely by the chapter.<\/p>\n

6. Additional Provisions<\/strong><\/h4>\n
    \n
  • Thrift Shop: Donor names contributing to the shop will not be publicized without written permission.<\/li>\n
  • Photographs: Donor photographs, or those of minors (with parent\/guardian consent), will not be used in any chapter publication without written consent.<\/li>\n
  • Chapter Members: Personal information of chapter members will not be shared without written consent, except as outlined in the National Assistance League\u00ae<\/sup> Donor Privacy Policy (on file with the chapter). Member donations receive the same protections as outlined herein, and members will receive this policy annually.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    \u00a07.Compliance with Laws<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    This policy is intended to align with applicable federal and state laws governing donor privacy and data protection, including any state-specific regulations regarding charitable organizations and donor information. Donors may contact the chapter at any time to review, update, or request changes to how their information is used or how they are acknowledged.<\/p>\n

    8.Assignment of Responsibility<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    The Board will assign responsibility for presenting the policy to members.<\/p>\n

    9.Monitoring and Review Schedule<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    The Board will determine the monitoring and review schedule of the policy.<\/p>\n
