This nomination reflects the organization’s community service efforts and recognition within the local civic and business community.

iLead, a CISD student group dedicated to cultivating student leadership, brought together representatives from several local organizations that serve the Coppell community. Panelists included representatives from the City of Coppell, Metrocrest, Interfaith Ministries, and Assistance League of Coppell. Leah Cross participated as one of the panel speakers, sharing insights and experiences related to service and community involvement.

Each panel member explained their organization’s mission, how they support the community, and the various ways students can get involved. Following the presentations, students asked thoughtful questions, demonstrating a strong interest in service, volunteerism, and civic engagement.

The session also included a break period that allowed students to speak one-on-one with each representative. This informal interaction gave students the opportunity to learn more about specific organizations and explore ways they could make a meaningful impact.

Based on the enthusiasm and engagement from the students, the session facilitator remarked that the group easily could have spent much more time on this segment—clear evidence of the students’ interest in serving their community and growing as leaders.

The iLead program continues to provide valuable opportunities for students to connect with local leaders and organizations while developing skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom.
