Each year, in partnership with other Assistance League chapters, we make literacy a priority, with a special emphasis during the month of February. See below for details on how you can help.

Granite Falls Boys and Girls Club receives over 2,500 books in February of 2019

It was party time when over 2,500 books were delivered to the Granite Falls Boys and Girls Club to enhance the library area.

What Books Can Do
Legacy of Literacy
Children’s Book Drive

The joy of reading broadens our view of the world when we see through the eyes of characters from other places and times, sharing their hopes and empathizing with their feelings. You can help give these benefits to the children being clothed by the Operation School Bell® and Kitty Young Auxiliary Adopt a School programs.

When children visit the Operation School Bell facility they are given the opportunity to select a book to take home with their new clothes. The Adopt a School program assists schools in need of extra resources through providing donated books.

The need for books continues throughout the year, so you may drop off new or gently used children’s books at the Assistance LeagueThrift Shop during operating hours. Please specify that your book donation is to go to the Operation School Bell and Kitty Young Auxiliary programs.

Here are the types of books we are seeking:

Picture Books – Pre-K to 1st grade

Beginner Reading – 1st to 2nd grade

Chapter Books – 3rd to 6th grade

Young Adult Books – Middle to High School
