Assistance League of the Foothill Communities is proud of our legacy of caring and commitment in action serving the communities of Ontario, Montclair, Upland, Rancho Cucamonga, Alta Loma, Etiwanda and portions of Fontana. Funds to support the chapter’s philanthropic programs are raised through our Thrift Shop; an annual Christmas Tree Brunch; direct mail appeals; gifts and grants. All funds benefit individual in need in our local communities.
Operation School Bell®
Operation School Bell provides over 1400 children each year with new school clothing in partnership with Kohl’s at the Colonies in Upland. Students are referred to this program by school personnel. New school clothes enables them to attend school with confidence and enthusiasm. Our Assisteens®Auxillary furnishes over 1400 grooming kits to the students.
Assistance League of the Foothill Communities is proud to work with 120 chapters around the country on this signature program of National Assistance League.
AL Bears provide comfort and love to children in traumatic situations. We supply the AL bears to community police and fire departments, San Antonio Regional Hospital and Kaiser Permanente Hospital Fontana to give to children in distress. Assiteens®Auxilary raises the funds that support this program.
Fostering New Beginnings
Assistance League of the Foothill Communities assists the County of San Bernardino to aid young adults transitioning from the foster care system to independent living. We provide each of them with a basket of kitchen essentials, bath and bedroom linens, grocery shopping cards and bus passes. The program is funded by a generous grant from the Harold Edelstein Foundation and support from our Las Tias Auxilary. Our Assisteens Auxilary provides each young adult with household cleaning supplies and grooming kits.
Clothing, shoes and household goods are donated to a local agency for distribution to homeless and indigent individuals.
