Sierra Bears

This program that provides traumatized children and adults with 12” teddy bears, wearing an Assistance League tee shirt, distributed through area hospitals, and 14” “cuddle bears” wearing an Assistance League ear tag, distributed by California Highway Patrol Officers. Bears are delivered to emergency departments of Sutter Auburn Faith, Sutter Roseville, Kaiser Roseville, Marshall (Placerville) and Tahoe Forest (Truckee) Hospitals, as well as the Outpatient Surgery Dept. of Sutter Roseville Hospital, the Auburn DA’s office for S.A.R.T. distribution, and the CHP.

Our member presents Sierra Bears to Fire Department personnel to give to children with whom they come into contact.

Assistance League of Greater Placer provides Sierra Bears to give to young children who are in stressful situations.

Thanks to the Assistance League for giving my sister her teddy bear.  It makes her feel much better.

My teddy bear will help me get better while I’m here in the hospital.  Thank you Assistance League.
