{"id":5281,"date":"2017-04-01T07:48:51","date_gmt":"2017-04-01T13:48:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.assistanceleague.org\/greater-placer\/?p=5281"},"modified":"2017-04-01T10:42:54","modified_gmt":"2017-04-01T16:42:54","slug":"day-of-giving-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.assistanceleague.org\/greater-placer\/2017\/04\/01\/day-of-giving-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Day of Giving 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Assistance League\u00ae of Greater Placer is one of over 600 nonprofits who participate in the BIG Day of Giving each year. \u00a0This year on May 4th thousands of donors will be generously giving to a nonprofit of their choice. \u00a0We are hopeful we will be one of your choices.<\/p>\n<p>For 30 years we have been passionate about kids. We want to give them a better chance to learn and to feel like their classmates, by boosting their self-esteem and increasing attendance. Local schools help us serve children in need through our Operation School Bell\u00ae program. They identify students from kindergarten through high school, and our members help them shop for new clothing. School personnel encourages thank you notes sent to us and we regularly receive responses such as:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; &#8216;I got a big winter coat for the cold weather and I wouldn&#8217;t have been able to get it without you guys being there for me.&#8217;<br \/>\n&#8211; &#8216;I got a belt to keep my pants up to my waist.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>We also provide school supplies, tutoring, and perform puppet shows focused on bullying.
