Assistance League of Hawaii is calling for 25 to 50 volunteer walkers to join our team for the annual Oahu Visitor Industry Charity Walk on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

Starting at 7:00 a.m. at Ala Moana Beach Park – Magic Island, this beloved tradition brings the community together for a morning of music, fellowship, and some of the best food you’ll find at any fundraiser.

For those looking for a lighter stroll, a shorter walk option begins at 7:30 a.m.

Why Your Participation Matters

The Charity Walk is Hawaii’s largest single-day non-profit fundraising event. Most importantly the funds raised by our team are returned to Assistance League of Hawaii, bolstered by an additional matching gift from the Hawaii Hotel Industry Foundation.

Our goal this year is to have 25 to 50 walkers. You can sponsor a student walker for $25.00 or an adult for $50.00.

Our store was featured in several prominent cutaways featuring JO1 members searching for clothes, hopping in their hot pink custom car, and just running in and out of our facility to the beat of the new, catchy J-Pop song titled “Where Do We Go”.

Hats off to our member volunteers for walking five miles from Magic Island through Waikiki and back at the 41st Annual Hawaii Visitor Industry Charity Walk 2019. The walk is a fundraiser sponsored by the Hawai`i Lodging and Tourism Association.

Assistance League of Hawaii will participate in the 41st Annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk coming up on Saturday, May 18 starting at 8:00 a.m. from Magic island in Ala Moana Beach Park.

Assistance League of Hawaii participates in this event every year as preference is given to non-profit organizations that provide services to Children and Education. Grants are based on an organization’s community impact up to a total of $10,000 per organization. Besides the good you’ll be doing for Assistance League of Hawaii, think of all the fun, comraderie, and refreshments (food!!) that you’ll be having along the way!

The Charity Walk, founded in 1974 and expanded statewide in 1978, is now Hawai‘i’s largest single-day fundraising event by a non-profit organization. Since its inception, more than $32 million has been raised to support hundreds of local charities throughout the state. Spearheaded by the Hawaii Lodging & Tourism Association and its non-profit arm Hawaii Hotel Industry Foundation, the Charity Walk is traditionally held every May on Hawai‘i, Kaua‘i, Lana‘i, Maui, Moloka‘i, and O‘ahu. Money raised on an island or county stays there. The public is invited to participate in this event featuring a morning of great food, fun, fabulous entertainment, and a little exercise to help island charities.
