Legacy of Literacy committee begins planning to give students books

On the former Make a Difference Day” now called Legacy of Literacy, Friday, February 23, Assistance League will hold an event to give new or gently used books to a school or agency.  “The books will be given to elementary students who don’t have books of their own,” said Jennie Hampton, chair.  “Members are invited to bring books to the Thrift Shop where customers can buy them and donate them to the program.”

“This project will be multi-year and Assistance League sees it as part of the  overall Operation School Bell® goal of supporting children,” she said.
