[vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Operation School Bell\u00ae – Chapters for Children” font_container=”tag:h1|font_size:25%20pt|text_align:center|color:%23003399″ use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_custom_heading text=”Back to School” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:center|color:%23ff0000″ use_theme_fonts=”yes”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Each year just before the school year starts, Assistance League of Laguna Beach members join representatives of six other area Assistance Leagues to participate in Operation School Bell\u00ae – Chapters for Children.\u00a0 The two-day event is held at the Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base, and it is open to school-age children from Military Families.\u00a0 More than 2,000 children are provided for each year.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”3846″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Assistance League of Laguna Beach joins representatives of six other area assistance leagues to facilitate Chapters for Children – Back to School.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”3844″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Because of the pandemic, Chapters for Children – Back to School has been a “drive-through” for the past two years.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/3″][vc_single_image image=”3857″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″][vc_single_image image=”4806″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″][vc_single_image image=”4807″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Chapters for Children – Back to School focuses on getting children from pre-school through high school outfitted for school.\u00a0 Assistance League of Laguna Beach gives a shoe voucher to each school-age child, and every child who attends the event gets to choose a stuffed bulldog, the Marine Corps mascot.\u00a0 Other participating Assistance Leagues provide each school-age child with a hygiene kit, socks, underwear, two pairs of levies, two shirts and a sweatshirt. The items are new and are provided at no cost to Military Families.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Diaper Day” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:center|color:%23ff0000″ use_theme_fonts=”yes”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Assistance League of Laguna Beach, along with other area Assistance Leagues participates in Chapters for Children – Diaper Day at Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base twice a year. On Diaper Day, military families receive new clothing and supplies for their babies and toddlers. Assistance League of Laguna Beach provides diapers, and at the most recent event, we distributed 400 cases of diapers.[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/4″][vc_single_image image=”3866″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Marines help us unload the truck full of cases of diapers and baby wipes.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/4″][vc_single_image image=”3867″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Our booth is all set up – cases of diapers unpacked and arranged according to size.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/4″][vc_single_image image=”3865″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Mommy’s little helper lugs baby supplies as they get ready to pick up diapers for the expected baby.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/4″][vc_single_image image=”3868″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Military families pick up supplies for their babies and toddlers including cases of diapers.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”3843″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n
