Operation School Bell\u00ae Program<\/span><\/h2>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Operation School Bell is the signature program of Assistance League. This program helps school-age children in need with support to help them succeed in school. Under the Operation School Bell program umbrella, Assistance League of Los Altos partners with 5 school districts. We develop individualized programs to meet each organization\u2019s needs to create the best foundation for the growth of each child\u2019s education. They are Sunnyvale School District, Hospital School program with Lucile Packard Children\u2019s Hospital in Palo Alto Unified School District, Reading program with Los Altos School District, Fremont Union High School District, and Mountain View Whisman School District.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/4″][vc_single_image image=”4830″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Sunnyvale School District<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner css=”.vc_custom_1661900192735{padding-right: 5% !important;padding-left: 5% !important;}”][vc_column_inner width=”1\/3″][vc_single_image image=”5696″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/3″][vc_single_image image=”5864″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/3″][vc_single_image image=”5698″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text]Bishop Elementary School<\/strong> serves approximately 500 students and is a Leader in Me Lighthouse school. The Leader in Me is a whole-school transformation model that improves the performance of all school programs. Our membership provides Leader in Me books for classroom and library, school supplies, PE equipment, musical instruments and scholarships for the 5th<\/sup> grade week-long off-campus science camp. Also offer financial support for approved student purchases at the Book Fair.<\/p>\n

Columbia Middle School<\/strong> serves 800 students. At Columbia Middle School, students are guided by three pillars: \u00a0Strong Instructional Practice, Social-Emotional Learning and Safe School Environment. Our membership provides high-interest books, PE equipment, Community Garden, multilingual library books, emergency snacks and clothing.<\/p>\n

Lakewood Elementary School<\/strong> has 450 students and is a technology-focused school. The school takes a whole-child view in developing students\u2019 social and emotional learning as a foundation for using technology for communication. Our membership provides books for all classrooms and school library, supplies for a Community Garden, emergency clothing and snacks, mental health tools along with reading intervention needs, and technology items for the classrooms and teachers.<\/p>\n

San Miguel School<\/strong> has about 400 students. Students at San Miguel have a well-rounded experience that includes Language, Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies but also extends into drama, dance, music, and visual arts. San Miguel is also home to Juntos, Sunnyvale’s Dual Immersion Spanish\/English Program, launched in 2015. Our membership provides Spanish books for the school library, books for the classrooms, PE equipment, a healthy snack food pantry with a mini-fridge, and scholarships for the 5th<\/sup> grade week-long off-campus science camp.<\/p>\n

Vargas Elementary School<\/strong> has about 478 students and all students are proud to wear uniforms to school. Vargas is a science-focused school in which all learning is viewed through a scientific lens. Our membership provides qualified students with uniforms, books for the classrooms, school supplies and library enhancements including books and comfort aids.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”3\/4″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Mountain View Whisman School District<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Mariano Castro Elementary School is one of 11 schools in the district. Castro school has about 300 students and is a linguistically and culturally vibrant school, where students and parents of diverse backgrounds are accepted and valued. We work closely with the school to provide support to students with art supplies, sports equipment. emergency clothing and snacks.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/4″][vc_single_image image=”5701″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”3\/4″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Hospital School Program with Palo Alto Unified School District<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Hospital School at Lucile Packard Children\u2019s Hospital <\/strong>serves approximately 450 students annually<\/strong> from kindergarten to 12th<\/sup> grades. <\/strong>The school offers a fully accredited academic curriculum including enrichment programs such as art and drama. The goal of the staff is to help every child achieve a successful and smooth transition back to their home school after medical treatment. Educational instruction is given both in a classroom setting as well as at their bedside.<\/p>\n

The school has seven full-time credentialed teachers, three instructional aids and one administrator. They are all employees of Palo Alto Unified School District.<\/p>\n

Our program provides classroom and library books, school resources, art supplies, learning games and teaching aids.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/4″][vc_single_image image=”5691″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”3\/4″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Los Altos School District\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]This program supports over 100 underserved students in the district. We fund age-appropriate books to each student to encourage reading at home by supporting purchases at the school Book Fair.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/4″][vc_single_image image=”5687″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”3\/4″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Fremont Union High School District <\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Fremont High School <\/strong>located in the city of Sunnyvale, Fremont High School’s student population mirrors the demographics of Sunnyvale, the County of Santa Clara and California. Enrollment is over 2,100 students with more than 40% of the students whose parents do not have a post-secondary education. We support two programs at Fremont: AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) and Journalism. AVID is a nationwide high school program with its mission to support underrepresented communities in achieving their post-secondary dreams. Our support of the AVID program includes college application fees,\u00a0 college field trips and year-end senior celebration.
