ADVOCATES<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Assistance League\u00ae of North Coast serves 37 Elementary Schools in the communities of Vista, Oceanside and Carlsbad. Our ADVOCATE Program was added to provide a connecting link between the people who know when children are in need of our services, making sure the need is communicated to our leadership quickly and to help make sure the need is met. It has been very rewarding to see more children served by our Programs because of this coordination of effort.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why become an ADVOCATE?<\/h4>\n

\u201cAs an Assistance League\u00ae of North Coast ADVOCATE, I have worked closely over the years with families who struggle and have seen first-hand how we provide these basic resources to our children, and how appreciative the families are of the help. What we do is provide some of the simple basics to children in need so they are ready to learn.<\/p>\n

We sometimes take for granted that children have all the tools they need to be successful learners in school. Children will find it difficult to focus and learn at school if they lack simple basics like warm and decent clothing, shoes that fit, and warm blankets on their bed at night.<\/p>\n

The next step is to provide access to good literature to promote literacy. We know that students who are literate are more likely to be successful in school and in life.\u201d \u2013 Cheryl G.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have been an ADVOCATE since the beginning of the program (Lots of pre-covid experience) and it is one of the most rewarding experiences in ALNC. You are a lifeline to our schools. You can now be onsite and get to know your Health Clerk and front office staff and get to see the school kids, from a distance anyway. And, they all see you bringing emergency clothing, shoes and listening to their needs. You are ALNC\u2019s presence and caring in person. This means so much to the schools. So, for those of you just starting out or those who have just experienced covid lock down at your schools, better days are here now. As a Longtime ADVOCATE, I encourage you to participate in building this relationship. It\u2019s fun too!\u201d \u2013 Lynn S.<\/p>\n
