Assistance League of Northern Virginia was delighted to be one of six local nonprofit organizations selected by the Difference Makers of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Springfield, to receive a grant.\u00a0 During a ceremony at the church, representatives from the nonprofits received their awards from Pastor Michael Hayes and Outreach Minister, Jung Choi.\u00a0 The grantees provided brief reviews of their organization\u2019s programs and described how they will use the grant.\u00a0 We plan to purchase clothing for two Springfield elementary schools we serve, after receiving input from counselors at each school regarding the items most needed, such as pants, shirts, shoes, and winter coats, and the sizes wanted for boys and girls.<\/p>\n
The generosity of Prince of Peace Church is a double blessing.\u00a0 Its Difference Makers team had awarded us a grant in late 2019 so we are grateful that the church was satisfied by our use of those grant funds that it wanted to collaborate with us again.\u00a0 Both Assistance League and Prince of Peace Church are devoted to making a difference in our community and this grant will double the impact we each make.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
