Once again, we are grateful that a Giant Food store has selected Assistance League of Northern Virginia as the beneficiary of its Community Bag Promotion.\u00a0\u00a0Throughout November, we will receive $1 for every special tote bag purchased at the Giant Store at 7501 Huntsman Blvd., Springfield.\u00a0\u00a0Over the past year, many Giant Stores have selected our organization to benefit from both the Community Bag and the Bloomin\u2019 4 Good campaigns.\u00a0\u00a0Both Assistance League and Giant are committed to reducing food insecurity in our community.\u00a0\u00a0Through our Weekend Food for Kids program, each month during the school year we provide 1720 bags of nonperishable food to students at Title 1 elementary schools so they have nourishment over the weekend. We also provide grocery gift cards for families.<\/p>\n
