Galore"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We recently spent a day at a Fairfax County elementary school where we held a book fair where every student received a brand-new book to take home.\u00a0\u00a0These \u201cBuild-a-Child\u2019s Library\u201d events are great fun for our members who help the children with their selections because we can witness how excited, happy, and grateful the students are to have a book to keep.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0More than 600 students, from Pre-K to 6<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0graders, chose books on topics that interested them.\u00a0\u00a0We stamped each book with \u201cThis Book Belongs To\u2019 and asked the students to sign their names.\u00a0\u00a0They also received an Assistance League book mark.\u00a0\u00a0Some eager students began reading their books immediately while waiting for the rest of their class to make their selections.<\/p>\n<p><a book selections and purchases for these book fairs are guided by an expert at Scholastic.\u00a0\u00a0Also, a grant from\u00a0Friends of the Tysons-Pimmit Regional Library\u00a0helped us purchase books students were exuberantly grateful to receive new books and their teachers were also delighted, knowing all their students had chosen book titles that interested them.\u00a0\u00a0Those outcomes made
