Our April Weekend Food for Kids event was another smooth operation, with about 60 volunteers from Assistance League, Dominion Energy, Didlake, and the community who packed 1720 bags of food for six schools in Fairfax and Prince William counties in about one hour.\u00a0\u00a0This feel-good event was enhanced by the return of our DJ, so everyone could pack while enjoying a medley of oldies.\u00a0\u00a0We also provided some emergency grocery gift cards to those six schools and grocery cards to a seventh school.<\/div>\n

As we\u2019ve done several times this year, we also delivered new clothing items to seven schools in April, based on their specific requests.\u00a0\u00a0The 255 items included\u00a0socks, underwear, hoodies, sweatpants, leggings, shorts, and T-shirts.\u00a0\u00a0The focus for our clothing distribution in May\u00a0will be warm-weather items, such as shorts and short-sleeve shirts. \"Volunteers \u00a0<\/a>\"An<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
