for Kids"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Assistance League of Northern Virginia partners with several Title 1 Elementary Schools across the area to give disadvantaged students better opportunities to achieve their potential.\u00a0\u00a0Our programs provide many basic essentials that strain family budgets.\u00a0\u00a0While most people take everyday toiletry items for granted, school counselors have identified multiple items their students lack to be well groomed and maintain good personal hygiene.\u00a0\u00a0To meet this need we have been providing hygiene kits with items needed for good grooming to 5<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0or 6<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0grade students as part of their school\u2019s hygiene lessons.\u00a0\u00a0Having the right supplies and knowing how to use them is a terrific boost for a student\u2019s self-confidence.<\/p>\n<p>We have been celebrating our 20th Anniversary this year by inviting the community to share the joy of helping someone in need by making donations from our ongoing monthly wish lists.\u00a0\u00a0The August wish list includes personal care items such as deodorant, soap, hair brushes, toothbrushes, and washcloths that will be part of the hygiene kits distributed to partner schools for their upper-grade students, and the zippered bags needed to pack the toiletry items.<\/p>\n<p>Use this link\u00a0<a
