By partnering with JCPenney, 4000+ children shop each fall for new school appropriate clothing, and may choose a brand new book. Follow-up data indicates that participation in Operation School Bell has a positive effect on student self-confidence, attendance, behavior and peer relations.

Each school is allotted a number of students who may participate in Operation School Bell. The number is based on the school’s poverty level and student enrollment. School personnel select their students who are in the greatest need of this support. If parents wish to have their child invited to participate in Operation School Bell, they must contact their school as all recommendations are the responsibility of each school’s Operation School Bell contact, generally the school counselor, social worker or nurse.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”3703,3704,3708,3778″][vc_btn title=”2023 OSB Video Clip” style=”classic” color=”primary” size=”lg” align=”center” i_align=”right” i_icon_fontawesome=”fas fa-video” css_animation=”fadeIn” button_block=”true” add_icon=”true” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fyoutube.com%2Fshorts%2FcGKuxxReJgI%3Fsi%3DcKaoiOMNWVmG_cM6|title:OSB%20Video%20Short|target:_blank”][vc_btn title=”KETV News – OSB “80,000“ Child Served” style=”classic” color=”primary” size=”lg” align=”center” i_align=”right” i_icon_fontawesome=”fas fa-video” css_animation=”fadeIn” button_block=”true” add_icon=”true” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ketv.com%2Farticle%2Fomaha-assistance-league-celebrates-80000th-child-helped%2F41699888|target:_blank”][vc_btn title=”How to Get Involved” style=”classic” color=”primary” align=”center” i_align=”right” i_icon_fontawesome=”fas fa-arrow-circle-right” css_animation=”fadeIn” button_block=”true” add_icon=”true” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.assistanceleague.org%2Fomaha%2Fjoin%2F|title:Volunteer”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/YDzfYYi8o5o?si=F5NmyXmOWj0KFsc1″ align=”center” css=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1666364014296{padding-right: 15% !important;padding-left: 15% !important;}”][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Kindergarten through eighth grade students from ten public and parochial school districts in the greater Omaha community are served through Assistance League of Omaha’s lighthouse philanthropic program Operation School Bell.
