ALR APEAL Luncheon

The chapter will be presenting awards for stage performances at (3) celebratory luncheons featuring elementary, middle and high school students with disabilities, beginning March 10th.

Operation School Bell Spring Sessions

Operation School Bell will be holding its Spring Sessions beginning Tuesday, February 13th at Kohl’s Department Store. Contact your elementary school counselors for information

Philanthropic Programs

Operation School Bell®

Local elementary students in need shop at Kohl’s Department store with help from Assistance League member volunteers for brand new clothing.  They all leave with a bag of new clothes, shoes and wide grins with a renewed sense of confidence.

Dental Center Services

Low-cost, full-service dental care is provided to local communities in partnership with Loma Linda University Dental School.  Dental screenings are offered to Kindgartners at Redlands and Yucaipa/Calimesa schools.

Assault Survivors Kits

Adult victims of assault are provided with kits of comfortable clothing and personal care items before medical discharge.  At the Children’s Assessment Center, traumatized children of abuse are comforted through funding for “Max,” a therapy dog.

Adaptive Physical Education Awards Luncheon

Awards luncheon events to celebrate the athletic achievements of students with disabilities are held annually.

Teens-Be-Seen/Urgent Essentials

Target gift cards are pvoided to economically disadvantaged middle and high school students for new school clothes.  School counselors receive personal care kits and portable food for emergency use.

Power to Continue Learning

Scholarships are provided annually to young women who have overcome adversity.

Holiday Extravaganza

Assisteens® purchase toys and games for members of the Boys and Girls Club of Redlands and gift them during their holiday celebration.

Comfort Tie Blankets for Homeless Youth Program

The Assisteens® Auxiliary is partnering with the YouthHope Foundation in Redlands to make soft, warm “Tie” blankets for their homeless, at-risk youth at Christmas.

Giving Back Program

Occasionally, a donation is received that cannot be sold or used in the Thrift Shop, Dental Center or another program.  When that happens, the item is donated to another nonprofit organization for their use.
