Operation School Bell®

The chapter provides school clothing, uniforms, shoes, backpacks, hygiene kits and underwear to elementary school children. The clothing builds confidence and promotes regular school attendance.

Teddy bears are donated through community agencies to comfort and calm children traumatized by accidents or situations that involve hospitals, law enforcement or other emergency services.

Clothes for Careers

Our personal shoppers help women who have completed re-entry workforce training select clothing appropriate for job interviews and the workplace to assist in their quest for employment and a new start in life.

Eyes Right

Preschool children in local schools are screened to detect a number of possible vision problems, particularly amblyopia. When appropriate, we recommend that the child be examined by an eyecare professional.

Fresh Start

Victims of sex trafficking, sexual assault survivors and foster youth who are starting to live independently are given housing starter kits, hygiene products, blankets and celebratory gifts and cards.

History In A Trunk

Through History in a Trunk, members provide fourth grade California history students with a view of life in the late 19th century.

Members also participate as Mansion docents.

Kids on the Block

Puppeteers perform for elementary school children with scripts that focus on bullying and playground safety. The puppets let children know what to do in threatening situations.

Members encourage education at the community college level by providing scholarships to students who not only need financial support but have faced life circumstances and challenges that are more difficult than most.

Senior Friendship

Members encourage retirement community residents to knit, crochet or sew for those in need. Our chapter supplies the materials for scarves, blankets and hats for babies, children and teens.

Reaching Out

Individuals with immediate, one-time needs are provided assistance through partner agencies. The goods or services provided meet specific circumstances, but are not limited to housing assistance, transportation and employment needs.
