\ud83d\udcdaIn February, Readers Are Leaders (RAL) volunteers read “Mavis the Bravest” by Lu Fraser, illustrated by Sarah Warburton and “Solitary Animals” by Joshua David Stein, illustrated by Dominique Ramsey to 48 2nd and 3rd grade classrooms in San Jose.<\/p>\n

Students loved the books and they love the readers, too!\ud83d\udc96<\/p>\n

Both books\ud83d\udcd4\ud83d\udcd5were donated to the classroom libraries and activities for each book were left with the teachers. Students will receive a scratch board to draw colorful animals and they will look for Mavis’ picture when the teacher hides her in the room.<\/p>\n

Before saying goodbye\ud83d\udc4buntil March, every student also received “The Cool Bean Makes a Splash” by Jory John, illustrated by Pete Oswald.\ud83d\udc4f<\/p>\n

RAL makes reading fun for the students and it’s even more fun with added activities and a book of their own to take home.<\/p>\n
