Frances J. Johnson Dental Center<\/h3>\n

Operation Hug<\/h3>\n

We provide soft cuddly teddy bears to hospital emergency rooms and other crisis centers in our area. Forensic Nursing Scholarships<\/h3>\n

Weavers<\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”3383″ img_size=”medium”][vc_column_text]This program for visually challenged adults was formed in 1935. Weavers became a philanthropic program of Assistance League in 1970.\u00a0 We serve 40 visually challenged adults each month at a luncheon provided by Assistance League. Transportation, entertainment, and celebrations are all a part of these social events.[\/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Learn More” style=”classic” color=”primary” size=”sm” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.assistanceleague.org%2Fsan-pedro-south-bay%2Fweavers%2F|title:Weavers|target:%20_blank|”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Community Aid Program<\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”3386″ img_size=”medium”][vc_column_text]This program was instituted in 1935.\u00a0 We interface with area agencies to provide emergency assistance to individuals and families, primarily in the form of clothing and layettes, food snacks and cleaning supplies.\u00a0 Our volunteers made blankets, booties and hats for 34 layettes. Assault Survivor Kits<\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”3378″][vc_column_text]This program distributes clothing and hygiene kits through hospital emergency rooms to victims of rape and assault.<\/p>\n

This program started in 1996.
