Sometimes, an aspiring college student’s ambitions and best-laid plans come up against harsh financial realities – especially in Seattle, where the cost of living is among the highest in the country.<\/div>\n

The Financial Aid for Education (FAFE) program is designed to help meet the diverse needs of community college or technical school students, offering $1500 per quarter directly to students for essentials like books, housing, and transportation.\u00a0 Open to King County residents enrolled in one of its colleges or technical schools, the program has a GPA requirement of 2.5 to accommodate diverse challenges.\u00a0 Applicants are selected based on merit and need.<\/div>\n

Our community partners play a critical role in identifying students who need our support to complete their degree. Partnerships with TRiO at Seattle Public Colleges and Seattle Education Access provided a stream of eligible, motivated students in need of support, with a focus on students with one or two quarters left to finish their degree.<\/p>\n
