Every year in February, National Assistance League\u00ae encourages all of its nationwide chapters to develop a program to benefit their community. This year the theme is literacy and we at Assistance League of the Columbia Pacific have chosen to support literacy by providing books, selected by teachers, for the classroom libraries of the 25 NEW teachers for grades K-5 in Clatsop County. In support of our local book stores we will purchase books from Lucy’s Books<\/span><\/a> in Astoria, and Beach Books<\/span><\/a>, in Seaside.<\/div>\n

WE INVITE OUR MEMBERS AND THE COMMUNITY TO JOIN US AND PARTICIPATE! Between NOW and February 26th visit one of the book stores, check the book list, make a purchase and place the book in the red bin provided in the store. Your call to action is done!<\/div>\n
