REDMOND \u2014 Families in need with kids in the Northshore, Lake Washington and Bellevue school districts are getting a much needed helping hand, thanks to the efforts of the Assistance League\u00ae of the Eastside. Operation School Bell,\u00ae now in its 22nd year locally, gives qualifying students, ranging from elementary thru high school, the opportunity to shop locally for school clothing and shoes, their parents may not otherwise afford.<\/p>\n

Since 1997, the Assistance League of the Eastside has helped nearly 22,000 people through their Assault Survivor Kit program. During discharge, patients are given an Assault Survivor Kit, which includes a change of clothing (sweat shirt, sweat pants, socks, underwear), hygiene products and a note of encouragement \u2013 all signed by those who put together the package.<\/p>\n
