Assistance League of Victor Valley is proud to present the National Assistance League Operation School Bell Award to JC Penney in the Mall of Victor Valley.<\/h2>\n

\"\"For the past three years, we have descended upon JC Penney in the Mall of Victor Valley on Tuesday evenings every fall.\u00a0 To ensure we can clothe a maximum number of students at each event, we invite 120 students to participate at each event and store personnel are extremely accommodating.\u00a0 In preparation for our arrival, they set up a registration table with chairs, two different verification tables with chairs, and then dedicate two registers to be used exclusively to ring up our students’ purchases.\u00a0 In addition to this, they offer discount coupons, typically between 30% and 40% off store brands, so students’ money goes even further. \"\"<\/p>\n

We are grateful for all JC Penney does to ensure the success of our clothing events as we strive to Transform Lives and Strengthen our Community.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Glee Heikes – Awarded May 11, 2015<\/strong><\/p>\n

This Assistance League National Award is named for the co-founder of Assistance League, a woman who was less visible, but filled the role of hardworking, behind-the-scenes assistant to the founder, Ann Banning.\u00a0 It is in the spirit of Ada’s less visible and hardworking “behind-the-scenes” involvement that an Ada Edwards Laughlin Award was created.\u00a0 It is given to a chapter’s unsung heroine who has been a member for a significant number of years, having given outstanding “behind-the-scenes” service in a relatively inconspicuous way.\u00a0 \u00a0We are pleased that one of our members was a recipient of this award.<\/p>\n
