Through compassion, commitment, and incredible teamwork, our chapter has continued to transform lives
and strengthen our community—one meaningful act at a time.
Our member volunteers contributed more than 17,000 hours this year, allowing us to fund and expand all of our philanthropic
programs. Operation School Bell® reached 1,291 students through 15 shopping events and provided additional support for over
350 more through special requests. Our food pantry initiative delivered $7,500 worth of essential items to local school districts,
helping an estimated 800 family members.
Our Literacy Awards program continues to inspire a love of reading. This year, 4,354 books were distributed to third-grade
students across all eight Victor Valley school districts. Through our partnership with Scholastic Literacy Partnerships, we were also
able to provide 600 free books, many of which were donated to school libraries and local nonprofits. Our Young Authors program
helped celebrate and elevate student creativity by funding the binding of stories written by talented young writers in multiple school
districts.
To support innovation in the classroom, our Science and Technology Awards provided $8,203 in classroom materials to educators
at eight different schools. These resources will benefit over 1,000 students and help bring STEM learning to life in our local
classrooms.
We celebrated a record-breaking year for our Sock It to ‘Em campaign, which raised $32,072. Our Annual Fundraiser, “Western
Hoedown,” brought our members and community together in support of our mission, raising $9,000. We also secured over
$16,800 in grant funding thanks to the generosity of our corporate and community partners.
Through our Outreach program, we responded to urgent, one-time community needs, including assisting a family of five who lost
their home to a fire. Our Pass It On program continued to thrive, re-donating more than 7,800 items—valued at over $18,000—to
local schools, charities, and national nonprofit partners.
Operation Hug remains one of our most beloved programs. More than 700 teddy bears were delivered to children receiving care
at our three local hospitals—Providence St. Mary Medical Center, Desert Valley Hospital, and Victor Valley Global Medical
Center—offering comfort and reassurance in times of distress.
Assisteens® played a major role this year, volunteering 288 hours and making an impact through projects like grooming kits,
Easter baskets, holiday gifts, and their signature Madd Hatter Tea & Fashion Show.
Our Thrift Shop continues to thrive, with sales reaching $209,000—providing critical funding for our programs and serving as a
welcoming space for customers and supporters alike.
Internally, we modernized operations with LeagueLink, enhanced board structure with the addition of an Assistant Treasurer, and
hosted our first post-COVID Open House to share our mission with the public. We’ve also kept members informed with our weekly
“What’s News This Week” updates and monthly Chapter Chat newsletters.
I am honored to lead such a passionate and purpose-driven organization.
