\nIn 2024-2025,\u00a0 our Assisteens served\u00a0 288 volunteer hours.<\/h3>\n

These young people assisted with Chapter philanthropic programs and helped in the Thrift Shop. \u00a0They supported our Chapter programs by helping to set up the Annual Holiday Sale<\/strong>, assembling grooming kits for Operation School Bell<\/strong>, and making Easter baskets to be donated to children living in a Domestic Violence Shelter, “A Better Way”.<\/strong><\/p>\n

They held their\u00a0Annual Mad Hatter Tea and Fashion Show.<\/strong>\u00a0 Always a huge success!<\/p>\n

History –<\/h2>\n

Assistance League Founder, Anne Banning, always felt that it was fine to serve youth, but better to let youth serve! So, in the 1930’s she called on the daughters and granddaughters of Assistance League members to assist in various philanthropic programs.<\/p>\n

We are proud to continue to encourage and provide volunteer opportunities for today’s youth. Assisteens membership is open to young people (boys and girls) in grades 7 -12.\u00a0 The aims of participation are to develop a sense of community responsibility, self-reliance, personal responsibility, poise, public speaking and leadership skills.<\/p>\n

We are looking for teens who are interested in serving their community through volunteer service and fundraising activities.\u00a0 Assisteens support their own philanthropic\u00a0 programs, as well as the programs of Assistance League of Victor Valley.<\/p>\n

Membership-<\/h2>\n

Presently, Assisteens’ membership is open to all students in grades 7 – 12.\u00a0 Each member will complete a minimum of 30 service hours during the year.\u00a0 Volunteer hours include meetings times, fundraising activities and community service.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”13785,13789,13790,13791,13792,13793,13794,13795,13796,13797″ title=”AMR Toy Drive !!”][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n
