On President Day Assistance League awarded  9 scholarships to Rio Hondo College students and 2 scholarships to Whittier College students.  Each scholarship recipient spoke of their education goals and challenges.  Assistance League of Whittier’s Continuing Education scholarships are awarded to single parents attending two local colleges.  Most of the scholarship recipients are pursing a Nursing degree but others are pursing  degrees were in social work, art,  researching a disease and young woman pursing Automotive Technology (so she can help women with their cars!).
