OPERATION SCHOOL BELL<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

During the 2019-2020 school year in partnership with JC Penney West, USD 259 students were outfitted with school-appropriate clothing. School years 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 featured a different model due to COVID-19 precautions.\u00a0 Assistance League of Wichita has established an additional partnership with McKinney Vento Services at the USD 259 administration building.\u00a0 Students who are homeless or during economic hardships receive special services through this program.\u00a0 The McKinney Vento team distributes\u00a0 school clothing, purchased by ALW at JCPenney West as well as hygiene kits, funded by several ALW donors, ensuring that these youth have basic needs met to continue in school.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

SCHOLARSHIPS<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

This program provides scholarships and mentoring to USD 259 graduating seniors who demonstrate need and commitment, for job-ready or certificate programs (nursing, mechanics, IT and more) at WSU Tech and Butler Community College. ASSAULT SURVIVORS KITS<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

This program provides clothing, footwear, hygiene items and journals to the Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center for nearly 500 recipients annually.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

BEAR HUGS<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n
