Thrift Witch (AKA Peace Witch) visits the Atlanta Botanical Garden

For the seventh consecutive year, Assistance League of Atlanta participated in the ‘Scarecrows in the Garden’ annual event at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. The event is held the month of October, offering visitors a chance to see exhibits of local organizations’ versions of “scarecrows.” Each year Assistance League submits a different version of the Thrift Witch, using the same witch’s head.. This year our entry was the “Peace Witch.” Her exhibit showed her flying through the air toward the earth carrying peace signs in various languages. As in previous years, the witch’s costume came from donations made to our thrift store, Attic Treasures. While many of our past versions of the Thrift Witch have received first, second or third place recognition. This year we met some tough competition, but in our minds our “Peace Witch” was number #1!
