Who We Are

We are 250 member volunteers in Atlanta focused on making our community a better place to live.

Assistance League of Atlanta is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization helping children and adults in need rebuild their lives and become more self-sufficient.  Through our programs, we assist a network of 250 community partners to provide new clothing, food, household goods, hygiene kits, comfort items and educational aid to those affected by homelessness, abuse and poverty.

City of Chamblee Proclamation

President of Assistance League of Atlanta, Janis Miller, received a proclamation from the city of Chamblee celebrating the chapter’s 40th anniversary of helping children and adults in need. Mayor Brian Mock, presented the proclamation at the City Council meeting on December 20, 2022. Assistance League has resided in Chamblee since it was founded in 1982.

Chapter members host holiday luncheon for Mary Hall Freedom Village

Assistance League of Atlanta provided and served a holiday luncheon for over 65 ladies from Mary Hall Freedom Village on Thursday, December 15. Over $1,700 was donated by the members for the women’s gifts and presents for their babies and toddlers. They also supplied  salads, desserts and beverages for the luncheon. Attic Treasures Thrift Shop

Attic Treasures is open on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. As of July 5, 2022, we have expanded our Donation Door hours. Our Bears For Children Program

Each year, our chapter provides thousands of new, child-safe, cuddly bears to comfort frightened children during crisis situations. Hospitals, law enforcement agencies, fire departments, and other emergency agencies distribute the bears to children in need of comfort during traumatic and stressful circumstances.
