Assistance League of the Bay Area Celebrates Silver Anniversary and 31 Years of Service to the Community

In 1988, Assistance League® of Houston conducted research to determine if this area could and would support the philanthropic programs and fundraising activities promoting the mission, vision, and values of the National organization.  The Houston chapter asked Bay Area volunteer leaders to organize an auxiliary for our community.  On November 15, 1988, eighty-five charter members formed the Bay Area Auxiliary of Assistance League of Houston.

In 1992, after much research and deliberation, the auxiliary took the necessary steps to become a chapter of the Assistance League®. With the approval of our founding chapter, and ultimately the Assistance League Board, Assistance League® of the Bay Area was chartered as a guild in January 1993. Just sixteen months later, Assistance League of the Bay Area was chartered as a chapter in May 1994.

On May 19, 2019 an anniversary celebration was held at the Bay Area Museum.  Individuals, community supporters, Advisory Council members, and donors were invited to attend.  Today, the chapter is humbled to have impacted the lives of so many children, teens, and adults in the surrounding area.

Our philanthropic programs have evolved to meet the needs of our recipients, the fundraising initiatives have expanded through the years due to the hard work of so many, and our members continue to show their commitment through their tireless volunteer efforts wherever needed.

Our chapter has been blessed these last thirty-one years and hope to continue to be as the future unfolds.
