Recently at our award-winning Resale Shop, a customer came in and bought all thirty jewelry grab bags available for purchase at 3.00 each, almost a $100.00 sale. Curious, volunteers asked if there was a plan for the purchase.

Hearts were warmed when we learned the customer goes through the contents of the bags and makes new bags to take to Texas Children’s Hospital. Some jewelry pieces are given to younger children to play dress up. Other pieces are given as gifts for a special occasion that happens to be spent as a patient in the hospital or to the parent of a child in the hospital.

Shop revenue supports our philanthropic programs but customers who donate items and shop are important contributors to our mission statement to transform the lives and strengthen the community.
