Assistance League of the Bay Area Responds to Galveston ISD Family Who Experienced a House Fire

For over 30 years, Assistance League® of the Bay Area has made significant impacts on Bay Area students across many districts. There has been tremendous growth in the philanthropic organization’s programs due to increased fundraising and community need. With the help of members, community volunteers, donors, grantors, and partner organizations, Assistance League has been able to stay true to its mission to change one life at a time.

Assistance League added Galveston ISD to the Operation School Bell® program in 2018 due to the increasing number of economically disadvantaged students.

In addition to its regular service to the Galveston campuses, the chapter recently responded with 24 hours to provide clothing and a personal hygiene kit to a family who experienced a devastating house fire. Shortly after volunteers shopped at the Baybrook Target store, Operation School Bell Chairman Sarah Foulds personally drove to Crenshaw Elementary, located on Bolivar Peninsula, to deliver the items.

Galvanizing the resources and prompt response made a difference, allowing the organization to continually fulfill its mission of transforming lives and strengthening the community.
