Assistance League of the Bay Area’s ACTION! Week Unveils Little Free Library

Assistance League® of the Bay Area celebrated ACTION! Week with the unveiling of the first of their two locations of a Little Free Library at Butler’s Longhorn Museum in League City, on Thursday, February 26th.

President-Elect Charlene Donovan, who is 2021 chairman of this annual marketing initiative, was inspired to offer an ongoing opportunity to put books into the hands of students, promoting literacy and establishing a lifelong love of reading.

This public bookcase currently houses 140 children’s books, from infant to young adult. Barnes & Noble donated twenty cases of books, as a result of the annual shopping event that allows individuals to purchase a book and designate it to the chapter, during the holiday shopping season from Thanksgiving to New Years Day. Other donations are courtesy of Clear Creek ISD and our award-winning Resale Shop.

The chapter has received its charter and will soon be listed on the Little Free Library location map.
